Max,
A few years ago I organized a study with about 30 different people. I gave
them all 5 different models to run on Nonmem. Some were overparamaterized,
others were not. I then compared their results. The results were presented
at AAPS in 2002 or 2003, I don't remember exactly what year. There was a
definite compiler-computer interaction. The results were really
interesting. People got different error messages. Some models crashed,
others did not. Even when the models minimized successfully, people got the
same parameter estimates but got different standard errors.
I have the poster as a pdf to anyone that wants it.
