Hi Pravin: I am not sure if I understand your question correctly.
In the simplest analytical approximation i.e. the first order (FO) method
in NONMEM, all the etas are set to zero. Now what the POSTHOC option does
is that it use the estimated population parameters as priors for an
individual's data and computes the empirical bayesian post hoc
estimates. This happens at the end of a normal FO run with the POSTHOC option.
