RE: Re: MPI error when run directory is a Windows network drive
Dear Bob,
I was hopeful when I saw your post with the "-mapall" fix that I'd be able to
resolve the MPI issues I've been having with NM7.2 on a Vista 64-bit OS
machine. After following Rik's advice and getting the proper 64-bit version, I
can run computername.exe from a local hard disk:
C:\>cd \nm72
C:\nm72>mpiexec -mapall -n 1 -host localhost computername.exe
USWA271718
However, that same command fails when run from a mapped network directory:
C:\nm72>H:
H:\Project - 151\NONMEM\151 MAD PKPD>mpiexec -mapall -n 1 -host localhost
computername.exe
launch failed: CreateProcess(computername.exe) on 'USWA271718.am.corp.amgen.com'
failed, error 193 - (null)
Is there any other information that I can send that would help run this issue
down? To be clear, I can execute complex BAYES regression problems providing
they reside on local disks.
Regards,
Mike

Nick and Andreas:
I managed to get MPI work when running from a windows network drive by placing
-mapall on every command line to mpiexec. For example,
1:mpiexec -mapall -wdir "%cd%" -hosts 1 localhost 1 nonmem.exe %*
2-[nodes]:-mapall -wdir "%cd%\worker{#-1}" -hosts 1 localhost 1 nonmem.exe

Nick,
I am having exactly the same problem that you describe. Have you already found
a solution?
Regards, Andreas.
