The Division of Clinical Pharmacology is actively engaged in research to optimize treatments for tuberculosis, HIV and malaria. The Division is seeking to appoint a Research Officer at Lecturer level on a three-year contract to lead modeling and simulation research and training activities in pharmacometrics.
Requirements include:
• A PhD in a discipline relevant to pharmacometrics
• At least 2 years post-PhD experience in pharmacometric modeling and simulation
• Demonstration of strong research capability
• Appropriate computer systems and software knowledge (considerable experience in NONMEM is essential)
Responsibilities include:
• Mentorship and training of postgraduate students
• Development and conduct of modeling and simulation research projects
• Leadership of pharmacometric modelling and simulation research group
The following will be advantageous:
• Demonstration of leadership, training and mentoring capability
• Experience of Pharmacokinetic-Pharmacodynamic analysis in infectious diseases would be an
advantage.
The annual remuneration package, including benefits, is negotiable between R301 285 and R403 124.
