From: dprater@vt.edu (Donald A. Would anyone have any information about specific brands of fortran compilers that are known to WORK with the software (apparently The Microsoft Power Station, mentioned in the documentation, is no longer available). Also any tips regarding a PC installation would be appreciated. The NONMEM V installation utility SETUP.BAT was designed for easy installation using this compiler. Other compilers (e.g., Watcom; Lahey) have been used by other people, but require modifications to the use of SETUP.BAT. Users Guide III (Installation)contains hints for these modifications (from beta testers). The easiest compiler to use is DIGITAL's Visual Fortran 5.0, although that does not necessarily mean it is the best or fastest compiler for NONMEM. There are many vendors for this compiler. E.g., Unicomp - The Fortran Market [Full-Line] [*INT*] +1 520.298.7212 (voice/fax) http://www.fortran.com/fortran/dec/ info@fortran.com Or, go to the DEC site: www.digital.com/fortran Note that http://www.fortran.com/fortran will lead you to http://kumo.swcp.com/fortran, and this lists several other compilers besides the Digital compiler, if you are shopping for the best price. But the cheapest compiler may not be the easiest one for the installation and use of NONMEM. Alison Boeckmann
