NONMEM help under Windows XP

It was clear that it works with no problem. I am running NONMEM under windows XP, and I found that the help does not work, in the same way Sam Liao described. Has anybody found the way of solving the problem with the nmhelp? From: Nick Holford Subject:Re: [NMusers] NONMEM help under Windows XP Date:Thu, 13 Jun 2002 08:08:29 +1200 Marta, I can confirm that NM-TRAN and NONMEM work fine under XP except for the failure of nmhelp. nmhelp crashes with errors which suggest problems with memory allocation. I am guessing that the memory management scheme used for the Command Prompt under Windows XP is incompatible with some function in nmhelp.exe. I have tried running nmhelp.exe via an MS-DOS shortcut in Windows 95 compatibility mode but this does not fix the problem. I work around this problem by using a hyper text version of nmhelp created with Niclas Jonsson's nmhelp2html.pl script (attached). You will need to use perl to create the hyper text help files which you can download frm here http://www.activestate.com/ActivePerl/download.htm Hyper-nmhelp lets you look at nmhelp files via an html browser interface. I have installed Windows 2000 over the XP to get arround the problem since then. Except for nmhelp that doesn't work. To access the help, you can read the files with any text browser such as notebook or so. The names of the help files are half self-explaining, if you have some idea where your problem belongs to. Regards Jorn
