NONMEM 7.2.0 release Notice

From: Robert Bauer Date: May 15, 2011 news
Dear nmusers: This past week we have begun shipping CD's of NONMEM 7.2.0 to all users with up-to-date licenses. Some of the new features of NONMEM 7.2.0 include: Dynamic Memory Allocation: No need to modify SIZES for unusually large problems. Memory is automatically sized according to the number of parameters and number of subjects. User may override computer generated values using a $SIZES statement in the control stream. Often for moderate sized problems, this results in much smaller memory usage, compared to the standard memory usage in NONMEM 7.1. Particularly helpful for parallel computing when using multiple cores on a single computer. Parallel Computing: The computation of a single problem that can take many hours or days may be distributed over two or more cores and/or computers to complete in a shorter time. MSF file system: Fully expanded to Monte Carlo Methods: Seamless resumption of expectation-maximization and Bayesian methods in case of sudden interruption, since the last print iteration. XML Formatted Output: An XML markup version of the standard results output file is automatically produced. Control Stream Files may be written in mixed case Stochastic Differential Equations (SDE): Additional data items have been added to facilitate SDE problems. In addition, a plug in routine ("OTHER=sde.f90") is available for Monte Carlo methods (but not for FOCE methods), that evaluates the stochastic differential equations, without requiring coding of these equations in the control stream file by the user. A new version of NONMEM Users Guide - Part V Introductory Guide, dated April 2011,is distributed with NONMEM 7.2. This is the first update since 1994. It can be found in the guides directory as v.pdf. The help and html directories have also been updated for NONMEM 7.2. In addition, several bugs have been fixed that were in NONMEM 7.1.2. The companion graphical interface to NONMEM 7.2.0, PDx-Pop 5.0, will be available shortly for download from the ICON ftp site ftp://nonmem.iconplc.com/Public. It features full compatibility with NONMEM 7.2.0 including parallel computing and a graphical NONMEM installer for NONMEM 7.x. A "parafile Wizard" is included to automate preparation of the file required for file passing or Message Passing Interface (MPI) parallel computing. Other recent additions to PDx-Pop include post-processing of runs to allow use of PDx-Pop graphical, statistic and model evaluation methods (from runs not initiated by PDx-Pop), run-time plotting of any model parameter, summary files for multiple estimation method runs. PDx-Pop 5.0 will also be distributed as a CD-ROM to current PDx-Pop customers. If you do not receive your NONMEM 7.2.0 CD by May 31 , or if you wish to update your license to receive a copy, please contact Robert J.
