The Clinical Pharmacology Modeling and Simulation (CPMS) group in GSK has multiple summer internship positions at its King of Prussia, Pennsylvania site. Basic Qualifications * Currently enrolled in a U.S. based PhD degree program in Pharmacokinetics, Biopharmaceutics, Pharmaceutics, applied Mathematics/Statistics or a related field * Candidate must be eligible to work in the US at the time of, and for the duration of their employment and will be required to furnish evidence of US work authorization * Candidate must be eligible to work on a full-time basis during the internship duration (35-40 hours/week) * 3.0 or greater cumulative GPA Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with modeling and/or statistical software (e.g. WinNonlin, NONMEM, R, SAS) * Completion of at least one pharmacokinetics course * Student with prior relevant internship/work experience Description of the Department: GlaxoSmithKline R&D (GSK) is committed to model-based approaches to enhance the quality and efficiency of drug development. The Clinical Pharmacology, Modeling and Simulation (CPMS) Department has been effectively applying clinical pharmacology principles and pharmacometrics methodologies in order to aid rational and informed decision making in drug development working from Pre-clinical through Phase 4 programs. Job Details (include responsibilities of the assignment) * The intern will be part of a group that applies state-of-the-art quantitative methodologies within the modeling and simulation framework to the development of compounds in the GSK portfolio. * The intern will contribute to the analysis of clinical data including pharmacokinetics, biomarker and/or clinical data to support the development of new compounds in different disease areas. * Through this program, the intern will gain experience in advanced population PK and PKPD analyses and understanding the use of pharmacometric analysis as part of a drug development program.
