RE: PsN 4.2.0 released
Hi Kajsa,
We're currently running PsN 3.7.6. Is it better to uninstall this version, then
then install v4.2 clean, so to speak? How do you un-install?
Otherwise, I can upgrade. You previously wrote this note (below). We have PsN
installed on Windows 7, 64bit. Would you have any suggestions/recommendations
for installation/upgrading on Windows?
Thanks!
Hi,
Yes, it is straightforward to upgrade, provided that you do not run in
to problems when installing the extra Perl modules that are required by
PsN4 (Moose and MooseX::Params::Validate). We have run pre-release test
on a number of platforms, and on some (for example CentOS 6.5) it was a
bit awkward to get all the Perl modules, but we have gained lots of
experience to share if anyone runs into similar problems. When upgrading
I recommend that you give the installation script (setup.pl) the same
installation folders for the utilities and core/toolkit, because then
setup.pl will handle making the new version the default, and will copy
psn.conf from the old default version to the new.
Yes, PsN is run from the DOS prompt. If you want a GUI I can highly
recommend Pirana (www.pirana-software.com) which is linked to RStudio also.
Best regards,
Kajsa

Subject: [NMusers] PsN 4.2.0 released
Dear NMusers,
PsN 4.2.0 is now available for download from http://psn.sourceforge.net.
The most important changes are a complete rewrite of PsN to use the
Moose object system, a new program sir for calculating uncertainty on
model parameters, support for NMQual8 and a test suite for verification
of PsN.
This release also includes some very important bug fixes which in
themselves are worth the effort of upgrading to 4.2.0.
Note that PsN 4.2.0 has a new minimum Perl version requirement and
depends on new Perl packages. Please read the installation guide
http://psn.sourceforge.net/install.php before installing.
The complete list of new features and bug fixes is found on
http://psn.sourceforge.net/pdfdocs/release_notes_PsN_4_2_0.txt
The PsN developers will be at PAGE to present PsN4. We look forward to
seeing you there!
Best regards,
PsN development team
