Parameter estimation algorithms are different in their assumptions (statistical) hence are bound to differ in terms of power of test. So you will find some algorithms performing above par depending on the study design (rich/sparse-missingness of data). Comparing results from different algorithms can always be done in modelling and used as a model validation/confirmation tool hence reduce estimation bias. Regards Bernard
