Population PK diploma level 1
Dear NMuser,
We are pleased to announce that a 5.5-day Level-1 course in Population
Pharmacokinetic modelling will be given in Toulouse (France) on 3 - 8 March
2014.
For what purpose?
- To get a sound grounding in population pharmacokinetic concepts, model
estimation and model evaluation,
- To get strategies for model building.
The course is truly a mix between an academic and professional course.
All lectures will be given on a blackboard in an "academic spirit" and
hands-on computer exercises will be run in order to achieve the ultimate
objective of the course: that you become operational in population
pharmacokinetic analysis. The exercises will be carried out using the
last version of NONMEM and R software. The group size will be kept small
for maximum benefit to participants.
On the last day of the course (Saturday morning), you will be free to
take an exam and a diploma will be delivered based on the results of
this exam. Otherwise, a certificate of attendance will be delivered.
For whom?
- You want to clearly understand each part of a population
pharmacokinetic model?
- You know that the likelihood/objective function is something very
important but you don't feel very comfortable with it?
- You want to know everything about the old/new estimation methods
(SAEM, FO, FOCE, FOCE-I etc) and what are the pros and cons of each method?
- You feel lost with all the new model evaluation metrics (EWRES, WRES,
NPDE, CWRES, ECWRES etc) and want to learn more on VPCs and other stuff?
- You want to know more about shrinkage?
- You feel lost with the methods for covariate selection (ascending,
descending, automatic model building, use of EBEs) and would like to get
some decision rules to guide you during model building?
- You have some academic questions you never dared to ask?
... then this course is made for you!
