Peter use R ( http://www.r-project.org/) to read your csv datafile file (read.csv). You may make some plots to understand your data, or you may clean your data and you can write back the dataframe with write.csv to your filesystem. The opensource answer to excel is OpenOffice ( http://www.openoffice.org/). [Speth, Heiner R&D/DE]
