Hi Lloyd, If you just downloaded the Intel installer from Intel's website and it does not come directly with the Microsoft suite, you need to install Visual C++ express first, and then the Intel compiler. Or at least, that's what worked for me. I have the 2008 version with the service pack 1, but I presume later version will work too. Good luck! Paolo

Prior to installing the Fortran compiler, it is my understanding that I need to install MS Visual Studio Express and MS Windows SDK. Visual Studio Express 2008 and 2010 are currently available. However, Visual Studio Express is now being described as a suite of software packages, rather than being a single software package, that the user is to choose from. For example, the user can choose from Visual Basic 2008 Express, Visual C# 2008 Express, Visual C++ 2008 Express, Visual Web Developer 2008 Express, and a couple of other choices. Can you tell me which of the aforementioned software packages I need to download? Is there anything else that I will need for the 64-bit installation? > > Thanks, > > Lloyd > > Lloyd Whitfield, PhD > > President, LW Solutions,LLC > > 9207 Cambridge Dr > > Saline, MI 48176 > > Phone: 734-786-2877 > > Cell: 734-649-4386 > > FAX: 734-9442712 > > [email protected] -- ------------------------------------------------ Paolo Denti, PhD Post-Doctoral Fellow Division of Clinical Pharmacology Department of Medicine University of Cape Town K45 Old Main Building Groote Schuur Hospital Observatory, Cape Town 7925 South Africa phone: +27 21 404 7719 fax: +27 21 448 1989 email: [email protected]
