From: Vladimir Piotrovsky <VPIOTROV@PRDBE.jnj.com> Subject: [NMusers] RACE as a covariate Date: 6/25/2003 5:22 AM Dear Colleagues, I have a question about the covariate called RACE. What is race? Under 'RACE' we have in our databases categories like WHITE, BLACK, HISPANIC, ORIENTAL, INDIAN, etc. However, what I learned in school, there are only 3 races: Caucasians (Europeoids), Orientals (Mongoloids) and Black Africans (Negroids). The categories listed above are, in fact, ethnic groups. Please, share your opinion/knowledge.
