I'm not interested in a standard error, per se, however, I may be interested in testing a covariate effect from two hierarchical models using a likelihood ratio test when the covariate requires substantial imputation. In this model building (model uncertainty) context, it is my understanding that multiple imputation methods have not been worked out. It is an issue as rarely are we 'given a model' as some form of model building is typically required. Ken
