Eli Lilly is looking for: Principal Research Scientist - Modeling and Simulation Advanced Analytics The M&S group within Advanced Analytics focuses on developing new models, algorithms, and software in a wide range of technical areas, including the modeling and analysis of complex systems, optimization, model verification and validation, computational science, high-performance computing, visualization and problem-solving environments. This group grapples with real-world problems that require innovative but realistic solutions, at times using advanced computing platforms. This opening is for an experienced researcher in applied mathematics, statistics, operations research, computational engineering, computer science or other areas of science with an emphasis on modeling. We are especially interested in persons with expertise in the quantification of uncertainty and stochastic methods for models of complex systems and systems of systems. Successful candidates are expected to work with multidisciplinary teams to solve challenging problems of importance to drug research, development, manufacturing and sales. They will also conduct innovative research, publish and present results in refereed journals and conferences. The successful candidate will provide statistical/mathematical modeling support in multiple dimensions including: - provides technical leadership and expertise to execute multi-disciplinary or cross functional projects that will influence the Lilly Research Laboratory and the Statistical Science organization;- leads the assessment and introduction of new statistical/mathematical technology and methodology to apply to broader practice;- provides consulting on priority clinical projects, build scientific models of biological, clinical and healthcare processes as well as business processes - assist with decision-making by modeling systems/processes/project plans across Eli Lilly- provide appropriate technical oversight and coaching. The job tasks listed below outline the scope of the position. The application of these tasks may vary, based upon current business needs.
