The Disease and Therapeutic Response Modeling and Simulation Program in the
Division of Clinical Pharmacology, Indiana University School of Medicine,
Indianapolis, Indiana, is seeking outstanding candidates for a two-year
postdoctoral fellowship in pharmacometrics to support Alzheimer's disease drug
development efforts through the MODEL-AD and TREAT-AD programs. The candidate
will also have the opportunity to participate in projects in other therapeutic
areas, including women's health, pediatrics, and oncology.
The postdoctoral fellow will join our highly individualized training program in
quantitative pharmacology and pharmacometrics, including application of
non-linear mixed effects modeling, Bayesian modeling and Monte-Carlo Simulation
techniques, physiologically-based pharmacokinetic modeling, data mining,
machine learning, and quantitative systems pharmacology. Trainees will benefit
from interaction with the Division's T32 Clinical Pharmacology Fellowship
program, experts in clinical pharmacology, drug development, biostatistics,
computational biology, and bioinformatics. Candidates will develop the critical
skills necessary for participation in state-of-the-art pharmaceutical research.
Highly motivated, ambitious, and creative individuals with PharmD, MD, or PhD
in pharmacology, systems biology, pharmacometrics, bioengineering,
computational biology or related fields are encouraged to apply.
Applicants must have demonstrated experience and proficiency in pharmacokinetic
modeling as well as a basic knowledge of statistics, biology, physiology,
pharmacology. Preference will be given to candidates with strong quantitative
skills and computational experience (GastroPlus, Simcyp, Nonmem, Monolix, R,
Matlab, etc.). A background in neuroscience is preferred. Excellent spoken
and written communication skills are a prerequisite. Doctorate or Terminal
degree required.
