Kind regards, Rebecca Principal Scientist: Pharmacokinetic/Pharmacodynamic Modelling Closing Date for Applications: 17th February 2011 Line of Management: Head of Modelling Simulation Working Arrangements: Flexible (typically Mon-Fri 9.00am - 5.00pm - 1hr lunch break) Holiday Entitlement: 25 days, plus statutory bank holidays Salary: Commensurate with experience, plus pension contribution, health scheme etc. Location: Sheffield (UK) Job Overview: We have an immediate opening for a Senior Pharmacokinetic-Pharmacodynamic (PKPD) Modelling Scientist with a strong pharmacology background (as opposed to pharmaco-statistics) who is keen to apply their skills to oversee the expansion of practical applications of the PD module within the Simcyp Simulator by integrating current capabilities with other well-known features of the Simulator. A high level of understanding systems pharmacology principles and multi-scale PKPD is essential. A track record of scientific publications, ability to mentor and lead groups of scientists, and manage projects are also required. The successful applicant will join an internationally recognised, multidisciplinary team in which they will be expected to lead preparation of oral communication and publications by members of the PD team and to guide members of the PD team performing and evaluating case studies related to population PKPD. Requirements: * PhD in Pharmacology or a closely allied discipline. * Proven extensive experience in clinical pharmacology and PKPD modelling. * Over 3 years of experience in management of research teams (academia or industry). * Demonstrable communication skills, as evident by a history of presenting at scientific meetings and publication in peer-reviewed journals. * Good interpersonal and organisational skills.
