Job Title: Clinical Pharmacokinetics Summer Intern Department: CPD Location: San Francisco Bay Area (Hayward or Mountain View, CA) Job Description: This summer intern will work in the Clinical Pharmacology and DMPK (CPD) group in California, which supports all stages of biotherapeutic development cycle. Under the guidance of experienced pharmacometricians, the summer intern will assist the conduct of advanced modeling and stochastic simulations for clinical dose recommendation, optimal trial design, and rational development decision making. Collaborate with clinical pharmacokinetists and statisticians, leverage data analysis expertise to help to address key clinical development questions. At the end of the internship, it is anticipated that the summer intern gives an oral scientific presentation. Major Duties and Responsibilities: * Assemble clinical PKPD datasets and assist advanced modeling of PK, biomarker, efficacy, and demographic/pathophysiological data. * Utilize published external data to enhance the knowledge of diseases and treatments, and to facilitate the development of internal drug candidates. * Aid pharmacometricians in the preparation of presentations for internal/external/regulatory meetings, manuscripts, and relevant PK/PD/PM documents. * Prepare an oral presentation and present at the end of internship seminar Position Requirements: * A PhD student currently enrolled in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Mathematics or Chemical Engineering graduate program * Strong analytical, quantitative, and technical writing skills are required. * Good communication, organization skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential. * Familiarity with statistical software package (NONMEM, SAS, R, Splus or MATLAB) is highly desirable.
