PHARMACOMETRICS FULL PROFESSOR FIXED-TERM CLINICAL FACULTY POSITION DIVISION OF PHARMACOTHERAPY AND EXPERIMENTAL THERAPEUTICS UNC ESHELMAN SCHOOL OF PHARMACY The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy invites applications for a full-time, fixed-term position at the rank of Full Professor. This faculty member will have an academic appointment in the Division of Pharmacotherapy and Experimental Therapeutics. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a collaborative program in Pharmacometrics, maintaining an independently-funded research program, mentoring junior faculty, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students, and teaching advanced coursework in pharmacometrics at the graduate, professional and postdoctoral level. The Division of Pharmacotherapy and Experimental Therapeutics, a designated Pharsight Phoenix(r) Center of Excellence, is a nationally recognized, dynamic and collegial faculty whose vision is to lead the nation in achieving excellence in innovative translational research, education, and progressive pharmacy practice to optimize drug therapy outcomes. Collaborative research opportunities exist with faculty in the Institute for Global Health and Infectious Diseases, Center for AIDS Research, Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, Carolina Institute for Nanomedicine, Center for Pharmacogenomics and Individualized Therapy, and other programs in the Schools of Medicine, Public Health, Dentistry, Nursing and Pharmacy. These Schools comprise one of the nation's few comprehensive academic health centers located on a world-class research campus. The Division has vibrant fellowship and graduate programs, including an NIH-funded T32 postdoctoral training program in Clinical Pharmacology in collaboration with Duke University and the Hamner Institute for Drug Safety Sciences. Qualified candidates must have a doctoral degree in Pharmacometrics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biostatistics, Biomedical Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy or a closely related discipline, and demonstrate expertise in modeling, simulation, and/or quantitative systems pharmacology. The candidate must have experience in leading an independently funded, robust, internationally recognized program in Pharmacometrics, which supports research and teaching at the graduate and postdoctoral levels. Therefore, the preferred candidate will have prior academic, industry or regulatory research experience with drug and disease models, quantitative systems pharmacology, and/or clinical trial methodology; demonstrated leadership ability; strong working relationships with partners in the pharmaceutical industry; a record of collaboration with basic, clinical and/or translational investigators and a track-record of teaching pharmacometrics at the graduate level; a record of developing junior faculty; and a clearly articulated plan to develop an extramurally funded Program in Pharmacometrics in the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.
