EMF Consulting France is pleased to announce the NONMEM Practical training
workshop for modelling PK/PD Data to be held at EMF Consulting, Aix en
Provence, 6 October to 10 October 2008, 8:30 to 5:15 every day.
This course is largely based on the NONMEM manuals, tutorials and workshops run
previously. Minimum theoretical lectures are given to allow a naïve NONMEM
user to perform the exercises during the practical hands-on sessions. The
course is directed at pharmacokineticists, clinical pharmacologists, and
statisticians in pharmaceutical research.
This year, we'll use the current version of NONMEM VI, with the pre-and
post-processing interfaces PSN and Xpose, so there should be some additional
fun!
We'll accept up to 10 trainees only, 5 seats are already paid. English is the
course language, EMF site is non-smoking and fully accessible. Prerequisites:
Basic understanding of PK, PK/PD and clinical statistics.

Lectures/ Discussion themes (~16 hours)
Basic concepts of pharmacokinetic modelling, Introduction to population
modelling, strategy for drug development (why and when), use in market
application (what) Modelling and precision, sources of variability, NMTRAN
control records, Examples NONMEM modelling strategy and documentation
(protocol, analysis plan, report), Design, databases, constraints, diagnostics,
Model selection, Conditional estimation, Simulations PK, PK/PD modelling of
continuous or ordered categorical data), Simulations.
Hands-on (~24 hours): starts on day 2, alternating with lectures. Full
problems are resolved and interpreted including modelling PK in individual, and
in population, exploring covariates, interpretation, PK and PK/PD modelling,
PK/PD simulations. Each trainee has one PC.

€2600 (euros) to be paid before start of the workshop, preferably by cheque in

Registration fees includes transportation by taxi between site and hotel,
