Substantial inward investment in the UK will create a new Strategic European Base in Hertfordshire that will underpin the company?s intention to expand business operations across Europe over the next five years and beyond. You will be based in Hammersmith (London) or Hatfield (Hertfordshire), within our European division of Eisai Global Clinical Development. You will be part of a core team of four M&S experts headed by the Associate Director. You will work closely with other members of the Global Clinical Pharmacology department from our London, New Jersey and Tokyo operations. Occasional travel will be required. Senior Manager In the Senior Manager role you will serve as the lead pharmacokineticist on international project teams, contributing PK and M&S expertise at all phases of the drug development process, from clinical introduction through to registration. You will be responsible for the implementation of M&S strategies, including design and analysis of (population) PK and PK/PD studies, with the support of group members and through outsourcing. You will work closely with other members of the international project teams at both strategic and operational level. As the M&S group is expanding, there are also opportunities to focus the role in therapeutic areas and development phases which fit with your individual expertise and interests. You will be an astute pharmacokineticist with demonstrable, hands-on experience in population PK/PD, Modelling and Simulation, using NONMEM and S-Plus / R. You will have a relevant PhD or equivalent experience and a science degree. Experience of working in the pharmaceutical industry is a definite advantage. You will be proactive with excellent communication, organizational and mentoring skills are excellent. Manager In the Manager role you will concentrate on conducting analyses, from simple NCA to more complex (semi) physiological and drug/disease M&S. You will support senior group members in the M&S and wider clinical pharmacology groups, and also benefit from their friendly support and mentoring. Outside the group you will interact with clinical, data management and biostatistics staff. You will be a graduate in a relevant scientific / mathematical discipline and have a good knowledge of PK and PK/PD. As a minimum you will have a basic understanding of the population approach. Experience with NONMEM is an advantage and training and mentoring will be available to develop further expertise in M&S. You will be genuinely interested in the application of PK/PD and M&S in drug development and willing to learn. You will have good attention to detail, and work well both individually and in a team. Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry is an advantage.
