Actelion is looking for a (Senior) Modeling & Simulation Scientist at its headquarters in the Basel (Switzerland) area. Job Responsibilities - Support compounds and projects in clinical development with model-based data analysis - Support decision making in clinical development by simulation of scenarios and studies - Contribute to decision making with quantitative assessments of efficacy and safety measures of different doses, dosing regimens, and other relevant variables - Identify opportunities for model-based drug development - Maintain effective communication with Life Cycle Teams, Clinical Teams, and Clinical Trial Teams with the responsible Clinical Pharmacologist - Ensure high quality contributions to drug development - Management of quality and timelines - Knowledge of relevant regulatory guidelines and requirements - Sustain scientific competence by establishing familiarity with new scientific developments - Education of colleagues in Clinical Pharmacology and Clinical Development about modeling and simulation Candidate Requirements - Relevant academic degree (pharmacology, statistics, pharmacometrics, or similar) - 3+ years of experience in applying modeling and simulation to drug research and development - Good knowledge of drug development and the transition phases (preclinical to Phase I, Phase I to II) - Experience with relevant software (Monolix, NONMEM, Berkeley Madonna, R/S-PLUS, WinNonlin, other) - Interest in collaboration across departments (DMPK, Clinical Science, Biostatistics) - Natural curiosity to learn, phrase questions, and discuss M&S approaches with other scientists - Good interpersonal and communication skills - Fluency in English, written and spoken - Knowledge of MS office products About the Company Actelion is a biopharmaceutical company founded in 1997, headquartered in Allschwil/Basel, Switzerland.
