Dear NMUsers, Founded in 1898 by Roswell Park, MD, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, located in Buffalo, NY, was the first institution in the nation dedicated to a comprehensive, laboratory-based approach to the understanding and treatment of cancer. Today RPCI helps set the national standard for cancer care as one of 19 members of the prestigious National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN). Our mission is to understand, prevent and cure cancer. Roswell Park Cancer Institute is currently looking for a Post-Doctoral Associate whose duties would include: learning multiple aspects of PK/PD as it pertains to translational research and drug development in oncology and conducting scholarly activity within the preclinical/clinical research programs; facilitating (under the direction of one's faculty mentor) activities that will include lecturing and interacting with students, fellows, and faculty at RPCI and the University at Buffalo Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences (attend presentations and review research projects); attending meetings and participating in programmatic activities and courses as coordinated by the Department Chair; performing population PK/PD analyses, generating and writing clinical study reports, in support of oncology drug development; participating in professional organizations; participating in activities offered through the Office of Postgraduate Education including continuing education symposia and certificate programs; preparing and completing a minimum of one (1) research project over the course of the fellowship, including proposing, writing, conducting, analyzing data, and submitting a presentation, at a suitable forum, the results of the research project; learning mechanisms for seeking grant support and writing one (1) grant application (3-5 pages) during the first/second year of fellowship. Applicants must possess a doctoral degree (Ph.D., PharmD) in pharmaceutical sciences, biology, engineering, pharmacy, or a related field and have experience or familiarity with mathematical modeling software, such as NONMEM, MATLAB, WinNONLIN, or any other applicable software.
