Hi Nmusers,
I've tried to use the utility program 'finedata' to create a new data set with additional, non-observation, time points to be used for prediction purposes.
It seemed to work fine at first, but then I realised that the values for DV and MDV at the inserted data records differed from the default. Instead of DV=. and MDV=1, the values were imputed using first observation carried backward. I struggled to figure out what was going wrong, and when I added MDV=1 to $FINEDATA I got the error message: 'DATA ITEM MDV COULD NOT BE FOUND'.
In my original data set and model file TIME was data item number 10, DV was data item 19, EVID data item 20, and MDV data item 21.
After reordering the columns so that the TIME, DV, EVID, and MDV data items all were among the first 6 data items in the data set/$INPUT, everything works fine and the outputted data set looks as expected.
Is it possible to update this for future NONMEM versions, or at least include a note about it in the help files to avoid confusion?
Apart from this, I can really recommend 'finedata'. It's a great utility program =)
Thanks a lot,
sa
