Dear all,
It is with pleasure that I announce that Uppsala Pharmacometrics, with
support from the University of Cape Town Pharmacometrics group, will
teach two courses in Cape Town, South Africa:
• a 2-day workshop on “Introduction to population PK/PD modelling in
NONMEM”
• a 2.5-day course on “Advanced methods for population model building
and evaluation in NONMEM”.
The introductory course (16-17 February) offers an orientation to NONMEM
and ancillary software and discusses the basic principles of PK/PD
modelling.
The advanced course (20-22 February) presents model building and
evaluation strategies, techniques and implementation of population models.
Both courses will consist of lectures integrated with hands-on computer
exercises using NONMEM 7, PsN, and Xpose 4.
The courses are supported by the South African National Research
Foundation (NRF) and the Swedish Research Foundation for International
Cooperation in Research and Higher Education (STINT) and are offered
FREE OF CHARGE to students and researchers from or based in developing
countries. At the organizers’ discretion, researchers working in
communicable or neglected diseases affecting developing countries will
also be considered.
Unfortunately, no funds are available to support travel and
accommodation expenses, so these will be responsibility of the attendees.
For more information and/or if you wish to apply, please email
[email protected]
With your application, please include a short letter of motivation
describing your background, your current research work, and the course
in which you are interested. For logistics and small group allocation
purposes, we will need to restrict places to scientists with suitable
background skills and the potential to apply in their future work the
skills that will be taught in this program.
Best regards,
Paolo
