Clinical Pharmacology Group Head (Sr. Director): CVMED Research Unit in
Cambridge, MA;
In this key role you will provide leadership and management to a strong group
of Clinical Pharmacology Leads, and you will be responsible for resourcing,
recruitment, supervising, training, motivating and developing colleagues in
Clinical Pharmacology related activities as well as conducting such activities
as needed.
You will be leading the group in the use and development of innovative methods
to integrate knowledge of clinical pharmacology, pharmacokinetics,
pharmacodynamics, patient characteristics and disease states to optimize doses,
dosage regimens and study designs throughout the clinical drug research
process. You will foster close collaboration with pharmacometrics, statistics,
non clinical PKPD and systems pharmacology to implement and promote modeling
and simulation approaches that improve clinical confidence in rationale,
support dose selection, lead to efficient clinical drug development decisions
and drive more successful POCs.
Clinical Pharmacology Leads routinely interact with internal leadership,
regulatory agencies, and external opinions leaders. We are expected to
influence the internal and external environment by advancing quantitative
pharmacology and through presentations and publications.
The successful candidate has clinical pharmacology expertise and demonstrates
thorough understanding of 1) principles of PK, PKPD (mechanistic/systems
modeling is a plus) and pharmacology relevant to drug candidates; 2) knowledge
of phase I studies including design conduct and interpretation; and 3) other
relevant scientific disciplines, including drug metabolism, drug transport,
formulation sciences, biopharmaceutics, pathophysiology and therapeutics (CVMED
experience is a plus). He/she has strong communication skills, scientific
excellence, strategic thinking and regulatory knowledge.
