Senior Pharmacometrician

Clinical Pharmacology & DMPK (Clin Pharm&DMPK) is a newly formed global
department within the Clinical function in R&D. It covers expertise in
modelling and simulation (pharmacometrics), clinical pharmacology (including
CPUs), pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism and bioanalysis. Clin Pharm&DMPK is
involved in project work from CD selection through life cycle management of AZ
compounds. Clin Pharm&DMPK is now expanding its model based drug development
initiative and is looking for a senior pharmacometrician to join the global
network lead by a Global Pharmacometrics Discipline Lead. Clin Pharm&DMPK is
located on six R&D sites, Mölndal, Södertälje and Lund in Sweden, Manchester
and Charnwood in the UK, and Wilmington in the US. The position could be placed
on any of the sites.
The role
In your role as a senior pharmacometrician you will be responsible for
population PK and PK/PD modelling, exposure response and disease modelling, as
well as other modelling & simulation components throughout the drug development
process.
You will work closely together with Clin Pharm&DMPK Leaders,
pharmacokineticists, medics, and biostatisticians and you will be a member of
the global AZ Pharmacometrics group.
The preparation of scientific presentations and/or publications will be
encouraged and there will be opportunities for personal and knowledge base
development through attendance at in-house or external courses/meetings.
Minimum experience/requirements
* A PhD (Pharmacology, Statistics, Engineering) or post graduate
qualification, ideally in PK-PD modeling or at least 3-5 years experience in
drug development
* Solid, hands-on experience with population approaches in PK and/or
PKPD, as well as the use of modelling and simulation techniques to support
decision making
