Dear nmusers,
According to the NONMEM manual, If ADVAN10 is used, SS6 is required. However, "when SS6 is used with any ADVAN other than ADVAN6 or ADVAN8, DES is used only when there are no steady-state infusions"(User guide part VIII, p. 279).
I have some steady-state data with RATE values (data event) of larger than 0 (which also means SS infusion). However, when I tried to run ADVAN10 as a SUBROUTINS, the message told me to add "DES" in the control file. Could someone tell me what mistakes I have made?

User Guide VIII, entry: SS6 SS9, p. 279 is in error. The word 'no' should not be present. The sentence should read:
"When SS6 is used with any ADVAN other than ADVAN6 or ADVAN8, DES is used only when there are steady-state infusions."
Compare this with Guide VIII, entry: ADVAN10, p. 117):
"If steady-state doses are present, steady-state routine SS6 is used, and consequently a $DES block (or user-supplied DES routine) is required. Unless there are steady-state infusions, it may be a "dummy routine. See Guide VI, section VII.C.6."
