Great progress is being made on the program for the 2nd annual Pasiphic (Pacific Coast Statisticians and Pharmacometricians Innovation Conference) to be held on the campus of Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA from July 13-July 15. The joint keynote speakers are Richard Lalonde (Vice President & Global Head of Clinical Pharmacology for Pfizer, 2011-2012 President American Society of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics) and Donald B. Rubin (John L. Loeb Professor of Statistics, Harvard University Statistics Department.) The brief tutorials will focus on experimental design and physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling. These tutorials are offered by * Harvey Clewell, Director of the Center for Human Health Assessment at the Hamner Institutes for Health Sciences, who will offer an introductory tutorial on PBPK modeling. Target audience: Statisticians and pharmacometricians with little exposure to PBPK modeling. * Chi-Hse Teng, Director of Statistics at Amylin Pharmaceuticals, and Brian Smith, Biostatistics Director at Amgen, Inc., who will offer an introductory tutorial on experimental design. Target audience: Pharmacometricians with little exposure to statistical design of experiments. * Amin Rostami-Hodjegan, Professor of Systems Pharmacology at the University of Manchester and Director of Scientific Research & Development at Simcyp Limited, and Harvey Clewell who will offer an advanced tutorial on PBPK modeling. Target audience: Experienced pharmacometricians * Vlad Dragalin, PhD, Senior Vice President of ADDPLAN, An Aptiv Solutions company, who will offer an advanced tutorial on adaptive designs. Target audience: Experienced statisticians As a reminder there will be a contributed Poster Session. Poster abstracts must be submitted by May 31, 2011. We anticipate that registration will be open by late March at which point posters may also be submitted. We are always looking for great programming ideas. If you have an idea, let us know.
