The Division of Clinical Pharmacology, Department of Pediatrics, University of Utah is pleased to offer the following workshops: Day 1: Clinical Pharmacology Workshop on Variability Theme: Clinical Pharmacology in Special Populations (an audience participation approach) August 6, 2013; 8:00 am- 4:30 pm Day 2: Pharmacometrics Workshop Theme: Inside the "Blackbox" of Population PK Modelling (includes hands-on session) August 7, 2013; 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Day 3: Statistical Workshop Theme: R for Pharmacometricians and Pharmacologists (includes hands-on sessions) August 8, 2013; 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Registration for Clinical Pharmacology https://umarket.utah.edu/um2/pedsresearch/product.php?product=2 See attached flyer and schedule for more information. Intended audience. This workshop series is intended for pharmacologists, pharmacists, clinicians or graduate/postgraduate trainees wishing to understand and apply clinical pharmacology, population PK modeling or statistical tools for pharmacological data in their practice or research. Topics to be covered include: Understanding special populations and variability - Pregnancy, infancy, and old age? Underlying Source of Variability - Use and application of Pharmacogenomics? Use of Pharmacometrics in Drug Development Population PK analysis - how to read/understand the literature Introducing PK modeling - starting to use Monolix The R environment Creating simulation trial data CME Accreditation This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of Primary Children's Medical Center, and the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine.
