Re: books/courses for learning popPK, PK/PD
Hi Gabriella,
You may want to try the workshops provided by the School of Pharmacy and

The University at Buffalo Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences offers these
specialized pharmacometric courses each spring.

There are 3 different sessions. Session 1 is an introductory training on how to
perform a PMx analysis in NONMEM. If you are trying to better understand the
guiding principles to apply when building a PK or PK/PD model, Session 2 is
probably what you are looking for. It provides a very thorough review of the
different types of PK and PK/PD model structure and their specificities and
operating characteristics. Historically, a lot of material was covered so it is
quite dense... but highly recommended.

Subject: [External] [NMusers] books/courses for learning popPK, PK/PD

Dear NMUsers,
I would like to learn popPK (and PK/PD in the long-term) to a level to be able
to build models on my own.
Now I’m on the level that I mostly understand the models built by others.
Could you please propose books or courses you found useful for this goal?
We have the Gabrielsson & Weiner Pharmacokinetic and Pharmacodynamic Data
Analysis, Concepts and Applications. Some have proposed the Owen &
Fiedler-Kelly Introduction to Population Pharmacokinetic / Pharmacodynamic
Analysis with Nonlinear Mixed Effects Models, which I have not read yet.
I already participated on the Sheiner/Rowland Advanced PK-PD Course in Waldhaus
Sils, Switzerland and found it really useful, but I would need more details.
We are located in Europe, so please do not propose US courses.
Any suggestion would be welcome. Thank you for your help in advance.
With regards,
Gabriella Magyar
