Associate Director Position in Pharmacometrics at Novartis
*Position Title: Associate Director Pharmacometrics*

quantitative support for early clinical drug development. The successful
candidate will be the lead for Pharmacometrics in the Neuroscience disease
area. S/he should have diverse modeling experience in drug development
within pharma/biotech and a strong knowledge of best regulatory practices,
pharmacometric data structures and approaches. This role requires agility
in being able to handle both hands-on modeling and strategic leadership for
a dynamic project portfolio and strong written and oral communication
skills. It is very essential that the successful candidate can work
collaboratively across global teams. This is not a people management
position but is a key and visible leadership role in early development.
*Accountabilities:*
· Work within a matrixed organization to coordinate and maintain
strategic support for the portfolio of projects entering clinical
development up to transition to Phase 2
· Develop and communicate the quantitative rationale for dose and
schedule selection, safety margin, dose adjustment and patient
selection/stratification
· Scope the key questions and assess the required time and effort
needed and the appropriate Pharmacometric resources
· Work closely with partners in the disease area from other
functions such as Biostatistics, Clinical pharmacology, Pre-clinical
modeling, Translational Medicine, Safety, Biomarkers and Research
· Represent Pharmacometrics and effectively communicate
pharmacometric input on disease area decision boards
· Work with other modelers providing support within the disease
area to ensure that the support to decision making is appropriate and timely

*Minimum requirements*
Position will be filled at level commensurate with experience.
*Education: *PhD in Pharmaceutical sciences, Clinical pharmacology,
mathematics, statistics, engineering or other quantitative discipline
preferred
*Experience:*
· Strong background in modeling and core expertise in NLME methods
and its application in Dose-exposure response analysis, population PK/PD
modeling, disease progression modeling and clinical trial simulation
· Good knowledge of statistics and data analysis; experience in
machine learning techniques is an asset
· Diverse experience in pharma industry on incorporation of M&S
strategies into drug development plans
· Ability to develop and deliver clear and concise presentations
for both internal and external meetings
· Experienced users of R and Monolix (or NONMEM). If NONMEM then
willingness to learn Monolix
· Experience in Neuroscience is an asset
