M&S Summer Internship at Allergan
The Pharmacometrics/Modelling and Simulation discipline at Allergan is seeking
a summer intern for 2018. The incumbent will be working under the direction of
an M&S scientist to develop an ocular PBPK model to support research and
translational science. The incumbent will be using a large database of ocular
tissue and serum PK data across many different investigational drugs along with
their physicochemical properties to establish and validate a mechanistic model
with predictive capabilities with the intent to support future study designs
and reduce animal use in alignment with our corporate 3R objectives.
Experience in the following areas is a plus: PBPK, nonlinear-mixed effects
modelling with working knowledge NONMEM, WinNonlin, SAS and/or R programming.
Key responsibilities:
* Develop and validate a predictive PBPK model
* Mining Allergan internal, and if necessary, literature ocular PK data
* Organize and program datasets to make them amendable for modelling
* Perform data visualization
* Create a centralized repository folder to store the data and model
* Present data to group and symposium at the end of the program
The incumbent may attend project team and group meetings to gain
industry/project-support experience
Qualifications
* B.S. or equivalent degree is required
* The ideal candidate is preferred to be enrolled in a doctoral or
master's program in one of the following disciplines: pharmacokinetics,
pharmacometrics, pharmaceutical sciences, biostatistics, data programming or
mathematics.
* Must be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited university
and in good academic standing.
* Must have valid U.S. work authorization without the need for
sponsorship by the company.
* Must be able to work full-time for 10 weeks for the duration of the
internship.
* No relocation, transportation, or housing assistance will be provided
