Asian Conference on Pharmacometrics (ASCoP) 2018
Dear all,
On behalf of the International Society of Pharmacometrics (ISoP), it is my great pleasure to announce the establishment of the Asian Pharmacometrics Network affiliated with ISoP (APN-ISoP), which will take effect as of January 2018. APN-ISoP is being established as an Asian chapter affiliated with ISoP and aims to develop and promote pharmacometrics in Asian region through the joint effort with ISoP.
A brief explanation of the background of APN-ISoP is as follows. During WCoP2012 in Seoul, Korea, a group of Asian leaders in PK/PD from Japan, China, Twain, Singapore, India and Korea formed the Advisory Committee (AC) to start a discussion to develop and promote pharmacometrics in Asian region. Through this joint effort, AC members reached an agreement to establish APN. In doing so, 3 more countries of Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam joined, resulting in 9 countries in total.
Rooted in this effort, APN-ISoP has been established through 3 years collaborative effort by ISoP and APN since my joining ISoP board as a board member representing Asia region in 2015. We expect that more Asian countries will join APN-ISoP soon, including Myannmar, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
Of several APN-ISoP related activities, the Asian Conference on Pharmacometrics (ASCoP), the bi-annual regional meeting organized by APN-ISoP, will be the biggest, and we are pleased to inform that the first ASCoP will be held in November 8-9, 2018 in Seoul, preceded by pre-conference workshops in November 6-7.
APN-ISoP website is currently under development and a new announcement will be made when it is completed, with more detail on ASCoP2018 and APN-ISoP.
In the meantime, please mark the date of ASCoP2018 in your calendar.
Best regards,
Kyungsoo Park
