Senior Pharmacometrican position at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Boston
Modeling & Simulation (M&S) methodologies plays an increasingly important role
in the development of new drugs within Vertex Pharmaceuticals and our goal is
to fully implement Model based principles to inform drug development program
with respect to translational modeling, clinical trial design, PoPPK and PKPD ,
dose selection etc, and improve critical decision making.
We are now seeking a Senior Pharmacometrician to our Modeling & Simulations
(M&S) group to help us achieve this vision.
The successful candidate will provide Modeling&Simulation expertise in one or
several projects in close collaboration with colleagues in Clinical
Pharmacology, Biostatistics, Preclinical Research and other colleagues within
the R&D organization.
Key responsibilities
* Support project teams with state-of-the-art modeling expertise
covering all phases of Drug development (Translational stage- Ph III/IV)
* Perform Population PK, PKPD-analyses, Clinical trial simulations and
other model based analyses on a regular basis
* Deliver high quality M&S presentations and reports
* Contribute to the continuous development of our M&S Department
capabilities (tools, methods etc)
Required Qualifications
* PhD in PKPD, Clinical pharmacology, or other quantitative discipline
with an emphasis on M&S and Pharmacometric methodologies
* 3-5 yrs post PhD hands-on experience in the application of M&S and
Pharmacometric methodologies within the context of drug development.
* Excellent hands-on skills in Non-linear Mixed effect modeling and
other modeling methodologies using NonMem, PsN, R, Phoenix, and other similar
tools
* A solid understanding of fundamental pharmacokinetic, quantitative
pharmacology (PKPD), and Biostatistical principles.
* Excellent collaborative, verbal and written communication skills
Desirable qualifications
* Experience from Pharmacometric analyses in Pulmonary diseases,
Oncology or Neurological disorders.
* Experience from the application of System pharmacology in a drug
development context
