Description
This is a two-year post-doctoral position in the area of pharmacometrics with a strong focus on developing (semi)-mechanistic PKPD models for influencing decision making in clinical drug development. The individual will be based in the Department of Translational Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology and will be the scientific lead of a multidisciplinary team with the objective to develop (semi)-mechanistic PKPD models for linking known mechanism of actions to clinical outcomes based on pre-clinical and clinical data in a specific disease area. The individual will have the opportunity to closely interact with other internal project team members, a local pharmacometrics team leader, and external experts to ensure that the overall progress is aligned with the project needs and timelines and the developed models are state-of-the-art and scientifically sound. In addition to the opportunities for scientific advancement that this position offers, the individual will also get insights into pharmacometrics in clinical drug development.
Requirements
PhD in Medicine, from an accredited institution, in Pharmacy, Mathematics, Statistics, Systems Pharmacology, Biology or equivalent area of focus with at least one (1) year of relevant experience in pharmacometrics
Demonstrated competence in coding and running PMx related software (e.g. NONMEM, R, SAS, MATLAB, PBPK software)
Basic knowledge in clinical pharmacology
Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities
Good written and verbal communication skills
Good team-worker in a multidisciplinary environment
Hands-on experience in developing (semi)-mechanistic PKPD models including but not limited PBPK and quantitative systems pharmacology models
Capability and drive for performing applied pharmacometrics research without the need for close supervision
