Full Professor Computational Pharmacology (Tenure Track/Assistant Professor) Computational Pharmacology The ideal candidates will have strong track records in the field of computational approaches in drug discovery and development and biomedical research. Through their expertise, skills and scientific leadership, they will be able to bridge between the areas of Systems Pharmacology/PKPD and Systems Biology, Metabolomics and Big Data. The focus will be on the development of multiscale/multivariate models that link pathways to disease and allow for in silico drug target identification and validation. Candidates for the Full Professor role will have a strong international reputation and well-established track record of outstanding, independent scientific and academic leadership, demonstrated by a.o. an extensive portfolio of publications, successful grant applications, leadership of large research projects and programs, invited lectures, committee and board memberships etc. For the Tenure Track/Assistant Professor position, a minimum of 2 year postdoc experience is required with a commensurate track record of publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and demonstrable ability to obtain research grants. The Tenure Track position consists of an initial period of six years maximum, which it is expected to lead to a promotion to a tenured position as Associate Professor. After this, it is expected that the candidate has progressed such that a promotion to a position as full professor can be expected within 3-5 years. The emphasis of the positions is on research, but it is our philosophy that our students get taught by our best researchers. It is therefore expected that every member of staff spend *25% of their time on teaching duties. Evidence of teaching abilities and experience is essential for both positions. Leiden University strongly believes that innovation requires a diverse organisation and workforce. Women are strongly encouraged to apply. Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a brief statement of research plans and contact information for three references to: K. Our aim is to advance the discovery of the medicines of the future through cutting-edge research and training of bio-pharmaceutical scientists. The LACDR is headed by Piet van der http://science.leidenuniv.nl/index.php/english/staff_info_item/piet_hein_van_der_graaf_appointed_new_director_of_research_lacdr/, who joined the centre in 2013 as Director of Research, Professor of Systems Pharmacology and Chair of the Department of Pharmacology, as successor of Professor Dr. Meindert Danhof. LACDR has organized its research and education around three clusters, Drug & Target Discovery, Systems Pharmacology and BioTherapeutics. The focus of the Systems Pharmacology Cluster is the development of novel experimental and computational tools and concepts for precision medicine. It combines cutting edge experimental facilities and know how in the area of metabolomics and organ-on-a-chip with world-leading expertise in Pharmacokinetic-Pharmacodynamic (PKPD) and Systems Pharmacology modeling. ________________________________ K.
