Expert Clinical Pharmacokinetics/ Pharmacometrics (m/f) Your responsibilities Provide pharmacometric support to drug development programs within a team environment at sanofi. The incumbent is expected to perform modeling and simulation in the area of population PK/PD using clinical data, including the simulation of study-designs ('trial simulation'); in addition experience with physiology based PK models (PBPK) would be helpful. * Population PK/PD (PopPK/PD) is a major aspect of pharmacometrics and combines methods for processing all available information on the pharmacokinetics and -dynamics of a substance in a therapeutic area, including demographic variables, and disease state and progression. * For PopPK/PD mathematical models of the drug behavior in man start to be designed based on preclinical data and then are optimized during Phases I to III. * Trial Simulation is a method to simulate in silico the outcome of (clinical) trials using the actual knowledge including the PopPK/PD models, in order to optimize the trials and to reduce the risk of a negative outcome. * The use of PBPK within internal and external research and development programs combines in the model besides the physicochemical properties of the compound, with anatomical and physiological situations, which are responsible for the complex ADME processes in the patients. The incumbent is expected to develop, validate and apply the described models with adherence to scheduled timelines. These activities are to be conducted in close interdisciplinary contact with the other functions involved in the product development (e.g. Clinics, Pharmacology, Galenics). Your qualifications * Necessary is a pharmacometric education, respectively Ph.D. or MD degree in natural sciences or medicine with mathematics/statistics as a focus. * Sound actual knowledge and practical experience over several years in the area of population PK and PK/PD are required. At least 3 years practical experience in mixed-effect modeling (with NONMEM) should be available, including post-processing, documentation and assessment of the results. * Several years of direct experience in clinical drug development would be helpful in addition. * English in writing and verbal communication is essential. * Open minded and committed personality, able to successfully cooperate in diverse teams.
