Translational PKPD Scientist and Post-Doctoral Associate Positions at Roswell Park Cancer Institute

Translational Research Scientist for PK/PD
Founded in 1898 by Roswell Park, MD, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, in Buffalo,
NY was the first institution in the nation dedicated to a comprehensive,
laboratory-based approach to the understanding and treatment of cancer. Today
RPCI helps set the national standard for cancer care as one of 19 members of
the prestigious National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN). Our mission is to
understand, prevent and cure cancer.
Roswell Park Cancer Institute is looking for a Translational Research Scientist
for PK/PD to perform population PK/PD analyses using NONMEM or other related
software, along with generation and writing of clinical study reports.
This incumbent will use various nonlinear regression software to develop
pharmacologically-driven mathematical models to determine optimal dosing
strategies for various oncology drugs; serve as a contributory expert and
consultant in offering guidance, training, and technical assistance to
investigators; provide interpretation of experimental data and assistance with
experimental design and technical services; assist investigators using facility
service to develop specific aims of peer-reviewed funded grants; develop and
implement quality control procedures for techniques performed in the facility;
communicate facility activities to Facility Directors; maintain established
departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs,
safety and compliance standards; enhance professional growth and development by
participating in educational programs, distributing and reading current
literature, and conducting and participating in meetings and workshops; prepare
other written documentation as required by the profession and the department;
maintain, distribute, analyze information for required records, reports and
statistics as directed; and perform other related duties as requested.
Applicants must possess a PhD in a health or science related field and the
equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in research or clinical
trials; or Master’s degree in a health or science related field and the
equivalent of three (3) years of full-time experience in research or clinical
trials. The preferred candidate will have a Doctorate in Pharmaceutical
Sciences, Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Biology, Engineering or other related field.
This incumbent must be a highly motivated, hardworking individual that works
well in a team environment and is very detail oriented.

Post-Doctoral Associate

Roswell Park Cancer Institute is looking for a full-time Post-Doctoral
Associate in PK/PD.
The Post-Doctoral Associate's duties include: learning multiple aspects of
PK/PD as it pertains to translational research and drug development in oncology
and conducting scholarly activity within the preclinical/clinical research
programs; mainly developing mathematical models using various nonlinear
regression software, such as NONMEM and ADAPT5. This incumbent will also
interact with students, fellows, and faculty at RPCI and the University at
Buffalo Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences (attend presentations and review
research projects); attending meetings and participating in programmatic
activities and courses as coordinated by the Department Chair; performing
population PK/PD analyses, generating and writing clinical study reports, in
support of oncology drug development; participating in professional
organizations; participating in activities offered through the Office of
Postgraduate Education including continuing education symposia and certificate
programs; preparing and completing a minimum of one (1) research project over
the course of the fellowship, including proposing, writing, conducting,
analyzing data, and submitting a presentation, at a suitable forum, the results
of the research project; learning mechanisms for seeking grant support and
writing one (1) grant application (3-5 pages) during the first/second year of
fellowship.
Applicants must possess a Doctorate degree or equivalent.
The preferred candidate will have a Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences,
Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Biology, Engineering or other related field. This
