PhD position in Pharmacometrics at Uppsala University
The Pharmacometrics Research Group at Uppsala University invites
applications for one PhD position in the field of pharmacometrics. The
applicants should be able to begin work in 2013. Deadline for application is
September 13, 2013.
The research group in Pharmacometrics is involved in methodological research
concerning principles and approaches for the development and use of these
types of models as well applied development and use of models in specific
therapeutic areas to enhance the understanding of diseases and the effects
of treatment in order to streamline the development of new drugs and improve
therapy with existing medicine. For information about our research:

Much of our research is done in international collaboration with
universities and industry in Europe, USA, Africa, Asia and Australia. The
research team is international, with >12 nations and many areas of
expertise (pharmaceutical sciences, engineering sciences, medicine,
statistics and mathematics) represented.
We now announce one PhD position with a tuberculosis therapeutic area focus.
Applicants must have, or soon be expected to have, graduated from basic
training in the appropriate area.

of candidates will be made by the supervisor in consultation with the
institution's research education group. The Medicine and Pharmacy Research
Education Committee is the body that formally accepts the student. Salary is
according to local guidelines at Uppsala University.
The holder of a PhD student position must primarily concentrate on his/her
own research studies. Other departmental work including teaching and
administrative work can be part of the position (maximum 20%). Provisions
for students are contained in the Higher Education Ordinance
(Högskoleförordningen) chapter 5, sections 1-7.
