PaSiPhIC 2014, San Luis Obispo, California: First Announcement and Plenary Speakers The Fourth Pacific Coast Statisticians and Pharmacometricians Innovation Conference (PaSiPhIC) will be held in San Luis Obispo, California, on February 25 - 27, 2014. The organizing committee has been working hard to put together another excellent program for next year's meeting. We can announce that our keynote speakers will be David Madigan, Professor and Chair, Department of Statistics, Columbia University and Malcolm Rowland, Professor Emeritus, University of Manchester. As usual, the program will contain a mix of scientific sessions and tutorials to "narrow the distribution between stochastic scientists by bringing Statisticians and Pharmacometricians together". Some of the topics that our committee is considering for inclusion are: quantitative system biology; enrichment strategies for clinical trials; personalized medicine and biomarkers; challenges and issues in patient report outcome data; dose response vs. exposure response; physiologically based pharmacokinetic models; predicting success probability of phase 3; noninvasive clinical and preclinical imaging; trial designs for antibody-drug conjugates; biosimilars; mixed-effects modeling of biomarker and efficacy data; exposure response analysis in oncology; literate programming/dynamic report generation. We need your suggestions about the program, so please contact us ( http://www.pasiphic.calpoly.edu/committee.html) with issues you would like to see discussed - there is still time to plan the program around topics that interest you. Whether you are a practicing pharmacometrician, a card-carrying statistician, or otherwise interested in PaSiPHIC, please plan to join us in the magnificent scenery of Central California to share and listen to the latest drug discovery and development science in an informal and vibrant setting - stay tuned!
