We have an exciting opportunity within our Early Development Clinical Pharmacology Unit in Shanghai, GSK R&D China. We are looking for a motivated individual with an established track record in effectively applying clinical pharmacology principles and pharmacometrics methodologies in order to aid rational and informed decision making in drug development. Director/Senior Clinical Pharmacologist, Clinical Pharmacology Modeling & Simulation Group in Shanghai, China GlaxoSmithKline R&D Qualifications and Responsibilities: The role requires doctoral-level training (Ph.D., Pharm.D., or M.D.). An analytical and inquisitive mind for problem solving and strong written and oral communication skills are essential. You will be working across the GSK drug discovery pipeline from pre-candidate selection through post-licensing. You will represent clinical pharmacology on the project team and have the overall responsibility and accountability of the clinical drug development in early and late stage studies as well as in regulatory submissions such as Clinical Trial Applications or NDA submission within GSK China R&D. You will also have line management responsibilities for group of pharmacokineticists. At least 10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience is required and hands-on experience in population PK/PD modeling and simulation using tools such as WinNonlin, NONMEM, Trial Simulator, and other commonly used PK and PK/PD software. You will have the opportunity to explore, learn and utilize state-of-the-art methodologies. Experience in planning, designing, interpreting and reporting of clinical PK and PK/PD studies, creating clinical pharmacology development plans, and writing the relevant components of regulatory documents is essential. Ability to work well and form effective relationships with interdisciplinary teams is necessary for collaborative work in our matrix environment. Ability to effectively represent the Clinical Pharmacology group on internal teams and to external groups is required. The position requires the ability to work independently and prioritize assignments with minimal supervision.
