Reminder of ASoP NY/NJ/PA Regional Event
Dear Colleagues,
We just wanted to send a gentle reminder to register for our second ASoP
NY/NJ/PA regional event, which is set to take place on Nov 1st in
Lahaska/New Hope, Pennsylvania.
Our speaker will be Dr Malcolm Rowland. The title and abstract for Dr
Rowland's presentation are as follows:
Physiologically-Based Pharmacokinetics: Advancing the Clinical Dimension
For many years a predominantly academic subject, the application of
physiologically-based pharmacokinetic modeling (PBPK) is coming of age in
drug development and regulation, reflecting significant advances in recent
years in the predictability of key PK parameters from a combination of human
in vitro data, drug physicochemical information, and the availability of
dedicated software platforms and associated data bases. The complexity of
the resulting model depends on the intended application. PBPK is now helping
to predict the first-in-human PK, and has the facility to be updated in the
light of clinical data and thereby provide more holistic view across the
pre-clinical/clinical divide. Some of the specific advances and contemporary
challenges with respect to predicting the quantitative extent of PK-based
drug-drug interactions and the impact of age, genetics, disease and
formulation are considered.
For registration and additional details, please see the event webpage at

While this will be our final event in 2011, rest assured we are already
looking ahead to 2012, in which we plan to offer approximately one event per
quarter. Details for our first quarter event will be announced soon. Please
also note that there will be a joint ASCPT/ASoP preconference in March 2012.

Thank you once again for contributing to the success of these ASoP regional
events. We look forward to seeing you in Lahaska/New Hope next week.
Sincerely,
