Dear all Novo Nordisk (department of Quantitative Clinical Pharmacology) has an opening for a 2 year PostDoc in the area of diabetes disease modelling in support of drug development. The candidate will work in close collaboration with Professor Mats Karlsson, University of Uppsala, and other scientists from academia and pharmaceutical companies involved in an EU sponsored project under the Innovative Medicines Initiative (www.imi.europa.eu). The candidate will be based in Copenhagen with frequent visits with collaborating institutions. Challenges The project (DDMoRe ~ Drug Disease Modelling Resources) is driven by an overall vision for streamlining and expanding the use of modelling and simulation in the pharmaceutical industry. The aim is to create a library of disease models in an efficient modelling environment in order to improve the quality and productivity of computer modelling and clinical trial simulation in drug development. 10 universities, 10 pharmaceutical companies, and 4 smaller companies are involved. As a PostDoc within the DDMoRe project you will be developing innovative model-based solutions for analysing and simulating clinical trials within diabetes. You will collaborate with a PhD student matriculated at University of Uppsala, with Novo Nordisk scientists and with other DDMoRe partners. Qualifications You hold a PhD in a relevant area (Engineering, Statistics, Pharmacy, or other). You are fluent in English, both orally and written, and have good communication and presentation skills. You have experience in applied statistics, including mixed-effects modelling, as well as pharmacokinetics and/or physiological modelling. Moreover, you have good knowledge of modelling software such as S-PLUS and NONMEM. You have an analytical mindset and a strong desire to further develop and apply modelling and simulation in drug development. In-depth understanding of glucose turnover and diabetes is an advantage. You appreciate working in teams of scientists with different backgrounds and the opportunity of expanding your network at an international level. We offer an exciting opportunity for developing your professional skills and for working in a project with many challenges and with support from a range of highly skilled professionals.
