Disease progression modeling for Cancer
Dear All,
We are working on developing a quantitative model for cancer progression.
Major studies in this area, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)
model from FDA, follows a similar approach to model a) change in tumor size
over time and b) survival model: which includes tumor stage and tumor size
as predictors of overall survival.
We are still looking to get hold of a good data set that has time dependent
values of variables. I have contacted the aurhors of various published
studies, but its not easy. Any suggestions about sources from where we can
get this type of data set?
In addition, I am trying to collect data from literature that I can use in
my research. We do not see detailed information in articles about the time
dependent change in the variables like tumor size. Most of the literature
show Kaplan meier curves with the mean/median survival times with different
treatments, tumor size and stage at the time of diagnosis. What would be
the best way to start this modeling exercise given the limited amount of
data that I am able to collect?
Thanks,
Gaurav
