Metrum Institute is offering the following three webcast courses during the Fall 2011 semester. Please visit http://training.metruminstitute.org for additional information and to register. MI255-W: Exposure-Response Modeling of Categorical, Count and Time-to-Event Data Using Bayesian and Maximum Likelihood Methods Course dates: September 2011-December 2011 Course Description: MI255 is an intensive course providing an introduction to modeling of categorical, count, and time-to-event data, and the practical use of WinBUGS and NONMEM® for such applications. The course provides some basic theory and illustrates some of the advantages of using Bayesian methods for these types of data sets. Participants may apply the 2 credit hours from this course to the Metrum Institute Certificate Program in Pharmacometrics. Prerequisites: Experience with PK-PD modeling and some familiarity with nonlinear regression, mixed-effects modeling with NONMEM, Bayesian modeling with WinBUGS or OpenBUGS, and R (or S-Plus) is required. Applicable MI courses include: MI200, MI210, MI212, MI205 and MI250, or contact us. Computer Hardware/Software: This course requires a Windows computer with a web browser. All required software used for hands-on examples will be freeware/open-source software and simple instructions will be provided for users to configure their computers before the course. MI101-W: Introduction to Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics Course dates: September 2011-December 2011 Course Description: MI101 provides a thorough introduction to fundamental concepts in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics through lectures and problem-solving lab sessions emphasizing physiologic concepts and real-world applications. Content in this course is consistent with expectations for an introductory pharmacokinetics course in a professional Pharmacy curriculum. Participants may apply the 3 credit hours from this course to the Metrum Institute Certificate Program in Pharmacometrics. Prerequisites: None MI205-W: R for Pharmacometrics Coure dates: September 2011-December 2011 Course Description: MI205 (formerly MI220) covers introductory through intermediate-level R programming topics with a focus on pharmacometric applications through lectures and hands-on lab sessions. Participants may apply the 2 credit hours from this course to the Metrum Institute Certificate Program in Pharmacometrics. Prerequisites: None. Computer Hardware/Software: This course requires a Windows computer with a web browser. Students will be given access to a Metrum Institute web-application server for hands-on examples, including all required software. Details on how to access the program are provided at the start of the course.
