PLT Tools -- version 4.0
Colleagues,
Steve Shafer and I are pleased to announce a major new release of PLT Tools,
version 4.0, a Graphical Interface for the NONMEM System. PLT Tools now
provides all the tools necessary to conduct and manage a NONMEM analysis.
PLT Tools is a suite of tools that includes the following:
• Project Controller: Using a graphical interface:
— run NONMEM
— automatically create numerous files containing NONMEM outputs and tables
— create extensive graphics
— perform various statistical analyses.
— edit a control stream with a built-in editor or your editor of choice.
— access a library of control streams.
Folders are created automatically, all source documents are archived, and all
files are time-stamped, facilitating Part 11 compliance. Tables created by
NONMEM are copied, then reformatted so that they open automatically in Excel. A
unique feature is a 1-2 page summary ("Brief Summary") showing the objective
function, the number of significant digits, final estimates for thetas (plus
standard errors, if available), omegas, and sigmas and diagnostics of NONMEM
boundary conditions. Examples of these various files are available at
PLTsoft.com.
Additional features include:
— During estimation, the objective function and THETAS are displayed
graphically in real-time
— Run visual predictive checks, bootstraps, likelihood profiles with one click
— Automated covariate searches
— Support for all NONMEM versions (including newly-released 7.2)
— Automation tools permit batch processing of many runs
— Run multiple instances of NONMEM on multicore computers (requires a
license).
• xpose: Access xpose's graphics and table functions from pull-down menus.
• Prepare a Report: Assemble a list of NONMEM runs (using pull-down menus),
then click to create an editable report (Word format) containing many elements:
— Tables summarizing the runs (including change in objective function between
runs and a likelihood ratio test)
— Tables summarizing population and post hoc parameter estimates (including
derived parameters such as half-lives)
— Line-by-line comparisons of control streams.
— Key graphics (JPEG format) with legends.
— Tables summarizing data (# of doses and observations / subject)
— Tables and graphics summarizing covariates.
— Dynamic Table of Contents / Tables of Tables / Tables of Figures
• Create Archive: With one click, bundle together the outputs of multiple runs
into a time-stamped archive. Ideal for transfer or archiving of a completed
project.
These tools are facilitated by the following:
• Graphics Editor: Using a graphical interface, select options for the creation
of graphics. No knowledge of R code is required.
• Run Listing Editor: During an analysis, timestamps for all runs are
tabulated. Using pull-down menus, select the runs to be used by the Compare
Runs and Create Archive Tools.
• Project Log: Ready access to information from all previous runs including
Control Stream name, $PROBLEM statement, objective function, and mode
(estimation vs. simulation; normal vs. bootstrap).
PLT Tools is available via download from PLTsoft.com. The free version provides
nearly all features (see the Licensing page on the website for details).
Licensing unlocks the remaining features. Installation is automatic (via an
installer), provided that NONMEM 5, 6, 7, or 7.2 is already installed (PLT
Tools is fully compatible with NONMEM 7 and 7.2). PLT Tools requires that
NONMEM be installed with Globomax's installer or nmqual (Metrum); PLT Tools
does not work with Wings for NONMEM (Holford).
Details, examples, and downloads are available at PLTsoft.com. Questions can
be directed to [email protected].
