Reader/Professor of Pharmacometrics
READER / PROFESSOR IN PHARMACOMETRICS, UNIVERSITY OF STRATHCLYDE, GLASGOW, UK
Applications are invited for up to a Professor/Reader level appointment in Pharmacometrics based in the Strathclyde Institute for Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences (SIPBS). You will be expected to perform research and develop methodology in the experimental design and modelling of drug pharmacokinetics/dynamics and to primarily apply them to clinical data, to address the unmet needs of specific groups, including paediatric patients and the elderly. You will have the opportunity to interact closely with formulation and drug delivery research scientists within SIPBS and will be expected to build on our existing partnerships with NHS Scotland and the pharmaceutical industry, to establish new collaborative initiatives and to develop a vibrant and successful research team.
Applications are particularly encouraged from those with an interest in clinical pharmacokinetic/dynamic research in the areas of paediatrics, elderly or infection. These areas will benefit from existing expertise and potential collaborations within SIPBS. We also welcome applications from candidates with an industry background and experience in optimising drug development and clinical trial design using advanced pharmacokinetic/dynamic techniques and candidates with an engineering or statistics background and expertise in modelling and simulation.
You will have an excellent record of research with high quality publications. You will contribute to the development of an internationally-renowned Centre for Medicines Innovation in SIPBS and to an extensive network of collaborations across SIPBS, the University, the Pharmaceutical Industry and NHS Scotland. You will be expected to make a significant contribution to SIPBS external research profile, generate new funding streams and grant income and to provide leadership in developing multidisciplinary research projects and publications.
