Clinical Pharmacology Modelling & Simulation (CPMS) CPMS has a leading position within clinical development at GlaxoSmithKline, contributing to the very first administration of a compound to humans and for demonstrating clinical efficacy in patients or other relevant population. Within CPMS, the Development & Technologies Group provide core methodological support and infrastructure pertinent to modelling and simulation activities. In addition, it offers expert advice to physicians and clinical scientists within the clinical R&D organisation. Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) At present, CPMS is actively involved in a major research initiative under the auspices of the Innovative Medicines Initiative ( http://www.imi.europa.eu), which is aimed at the development of a framework for M&S tasks, model language standards and modelling libraries. We have an opportunity for a Post-doctoral Fellow to join the team at our West London site in the UK. The candidate will work in close collaboration with other partners in the (future) consortium and will provide technical advice on modelling and simulation issues. Our preferred candidate - holds a PhD, MD or equivalent knowledge level within medicine, medical informatics, clinical pharmacology, bio-engineering, pharmacometrics or related disciplines with relevant experience in modelling platforms. - has interest in and knowledge of both the mathematical and information technology (IT) aspects of modelling/simulation. - is an advanced user or proficient in computer programs routinely used in modelling and simulation like R, NONMEM and SAS. - is enthusiastic and has good personal communication skills and the drive to interact successfully with colleagues at all levels.
